Advanced Medical Imaging is pleased to announce that we have purchased the latest in MRI minimally invasive breast biopsy technology. We can now offer women a fast and safe diagnostic biopsy using magnetic resonance imaging (MRI).
MRI-guided breast biopsy gained wide acceptance in 2006 as an approved secondary breast cancer screening tool for high-risk women when used with mammography. The American College of Radiology and American Cancer Society released guidelines endorsing MRI as a secondary screening tool, stating that "women who face a high risk of breast cancer should undergo annual MRI to detect the disease in addition to a mammogram."
The biopsy procedure is performed in our MRI suite and involves only one needle insertion with no post-biopsy stitches, minimizing procedure time and allowing patients to return to most daily activities immediately following the procedure. This system has a unique device feature that allows continuous delivery of local anesthetic during the biopsy procedure to increase comfort and ultimately keep the patient's safety and health as the highest priority.

Advanced Medical Imaging has earned national recognition as the Best of 2011 Radiology Facilities. Best of 2011 is a new program from Imaging Economics. It's designed to showcase hospital radiology departments, group practices, and free-standing imaging centers across the U.S. Imaging Economics reaches 28,000 print subscribers with additional readership via website and e-newsletters.
The August 2011 issue of Imaging Economics magiazine will include a profile of Advanced Medical Imaging. The profile is designed to showcase the facility's leadership in the medical imaging market.
